I have a PhD in psychology as well as a law degree (JD), and I’ve been a criminal justice professor for over 20 years. My recent classes include Introduction to Criminal Justice, Psychology of Criminal Behavior, and Hate Crimes. I have an international reputation for my research and publications on hate crime; my book on the subject is currently in its 4th edition. I’ve also co-authored a popular textbook for introductory criminal justice courses. The third edition of that book released in 2016. I’m a member of the Nebraska State Bar.
I’m also a fiction author. I’ve published 17 novels and numerous novellas and short stories, mostly in the genres of romance and fantasy. My books have made bestseller lists, have won awards, and have been translated into French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Japanese. You can see a complete list of my publications here.
My two careers and my family keep me busy, but I also have a passion for travel, which is often reflected in my work. I love to listen audiobooks during my daily walks. In my spare time, I– Oh, who do I think I’m kidding? I have no spare time!
